All kind of parasites are disgusting, but Ticks are the filthy ones. They do not even leave humans. These bloodsucker parasites are the vectors of dangerous diseases, like Lyme disease. However, its terror does not end here. A man died mysteriously from a tick bite. Everybody was stunned as if that man was suffered from Lyme that could be treated using antibiotic. Nevertheless, that was something inexplicable, even doctors were baffled.
After six months of investigation…
After six months of investigation, the Center For Disease Control (CDC) finally determined the actual cause of the mysterious illness of that farmer. The CDC’s team found that the farmer was suffering from disease transferred from a tick.
Which tick was that?
That tick was infected from an unknown virus. The CDC named that virus, “Bourbon Virus,” after the place, Bourbon Kansas County, in which the farmer used to live.
Experts of University of Kansas Hospital said…
An expert from University of Kansas Hospital, Dr. Dana Hawkinson said, “Its genome is similar to viruses that have been found in eastern Europe, Africa and Asia, but no virus like that has ever been identified in the western hemisphere, certainly nothing we’ve ever seen here.”
Symptoms of Virus
Dr. Dana said that ticks carry the Bourbon virus. If this virus is transferred to human, it can cause fever, anorexia, and muscle aches. Regrettably, this new virus is resistant to any antibiotics. Even if the farmer had taken antibiotic for the tick fever, he would have left uncured.
So never, take bites lightly!
Generally, we ignore small bites and think that it was nothing. But after reading about the farmer, I want to remind all our readers that never take bites lightly. Some bites can do serious damage or worst…can kill you too!
